Surgery

Cosmetic surgery should be the last option for anyone who wants a physical make over and with good reasons. Just because you could afford it doesn’t mean you should go for it. A lot of celebrities have gone under the knife to fix something that wasn’t wrong in the first place. If you think going under the knife is tough, wait until you experience the aftermath. So if you’re thinking that liposuction is the easy way to losing weight, remember that the procedure was made to be maintained with diet and exercise after wards, so if you’re too lazy to do both now, forget about surgery. Love your body coz its not something you can play with like clay with a surgeon.

Look bronze!

Want to look tan but wouldn’t want to burn your skin under the sun? Let pop artist Mandy Moore introduce to you her secret: bronzers.

Bronzers are specially made to be the best friends of people who have pale skin. Some bronzers come in powder and in cans. Celebrities who use bronzers normally carry on a natural glow in them as their colors tend to stand out amongst the crowd. These bronzers are applied where the sun would usually hit (i.e. between the eyes and the cheeks). Bronzers have this special effect that will make your skin look tan, fresh, and bronze!

Beauty secrets of the celebrities we love

Most of the celebrities are no different than the rest of us, The only difference between us and the celebrities we idolized them like a huge bank account, a staff of professional make up artists, and an access to the best clothing designers, personal nutritionists and trainers. Without those things they would look a lot like us.

Strawberry teeth whiteners

Yep, you read that right - strawberries. Well, I’m not talking about those artificially flavored toothpastes available in kiddie packages at the supermarket nowadays. Besides tasting like cough syrup, they really don’t feel like they can actually clean your teeth. Catherine Zeta-Jones actually uses fresh strawberries to clean her teeth. She swears by the fruit’s whitening powers. So how to do it? Clean your teeth as usual. Floss and brush with your favorite toothpaste. Puree or mash 3-6 strawberries. Swab the berry mixture to your teeth with cotton. Leave for five to ten minutes. Finally, rinse it off with water.

Olive oil manicure

Who says olive oil’s best use is in the kitchen? Julia Roberts and other celebrities soak their hands in olive oil to keep the skin soft and the nails from going brittle. Just put a few drops of olive oil in a basin of warm water and soak your hands for at least ten minutes. Another way is to rub olive oil all over your hands and put on gloves to leave overnight. This can also be done with your feet. Just rub a few drops of oil on your feet and massage. Wear cotton socks overnight and you’ll have soft feet and shiny nails the next day.

Hair Color

A little bit envious of Gwen Stefani’s platinum locks? Well don’t be, because hair coloring is not as complicated as it looks. Though not everybody can sport the blonde bombshell look, here are some pointers on choosing the right shade for you:

If you have sallow skin with undertones of yellow, better to stay away from deep gold.
If your skin has a pink tint to it, don’t go for shades of strawberry.
If you are already blonde but still wish to make you hair color lighter than its original, avoid going beyond a couple of shades lighter.

People with dark hair should avoid going straight to bleaching at first as it will be damaging to your hair. Perhaps you should try going a few shades lighter at first for a couple of months and gradually lighten the color in your succeeding visits. Better yet, ask help from a hair colorist in your favorite salon.

Colored hair also requires more care. Ask for recommendations from your stylist regarding the right shampoo and conditioner to keep your hair from going dry and brittle.

Oprah says no to carbs

Oprah’s secret to eliminating 87 pounds from her weight is not really a secret, but let me tell it to you in any case.

Oprah consulted personal trainer Bob Green who put her under a rigorous weight resistance training program. She would run for 5 miles every day and she also did some weight training. She also underwent a strict diet by eliminating “bad” carbs such as white bread, white rice, flour, pasta, and potatoes. She also stayed away from sugar and sweets. She would eat wheat pasta and wheat breads but only in moderation. She didn’t drink alcohol and ate two fruits a day. Oprah says that her kitchen closes at 7:30 in the evening.

Ahh… you see, the real key to staying in shape is discipline and will power. I do applaud Oprah for having both because the actual training and the dieting are quite easy to do but actually sticking to the program is the hardest.

Eyeshadow Tips

Makeup artists have a lot of tricks up their sleeves to make celebrities’ eyes pop! First, they put an eye shadow primer or some foundation on the eyelids, so that the eye shadow has something to cling onto. For eye shadow colors, they’ll select three shades which are variations on the same color (i.e. light green, medium green, and dark green), or in the same neutral color family (i.e. beige, brown, and dark brown). They will put the lightest color on the brow bone, the medium color on the lid, and the darkest color in the crease. This will emphasize the shape of the eyes and make them noticeable!
