Strawberry teeth whiteners

catherine-zeta-jones.jpg

Yep, you read that right – strawberries. Well, I’m not talking about those artificially flavored toothpastes available in kiddie packages at the supermarket nowadays. Besides tasting like cough syrup, they really don’t feel like they can actually clean your teeth. Catherine Zeta-Jones actually uses fresh strawberries to clean her teeth. She swears by the fruit’s whitening powers. So how to do it? Clean your teeth as usual. Floss and brush with your favorite toothpaste. Puree or mash 3-6 strawberries. Swab the berry mixture to your teeth with cotton. Leave for five to ten minutes. Finally, rinse it off with water.

The bootylicious Lopez loves her red carpet curves. ‘I couldn’t ever be a size zero. I have a butt, I have boobs and I have a woman’s curves – there is no way I’d see them go to zero’. She swears by juices to keep her healthy, drinking herb and oatgrass juice every day, and after dinner she drinks a beetroot and carrot or cucumber and celery juice to purify. Another tip from J-Lo is Grapefruit oil, she keeps a phial on her at all times, the aroma is rumoured to stave off hunger pangs and speed up weight loss! Jennifer used to love tough, physical exercise but now she prefers yoga and works out with her personal trainer. ‘What’s more important to me is finding a balance of mind, body and spirit. I still do weights and cardio, but I try to take a feminine approach. I’m definitely not fanatical’. And Jen’s advice? ‘The ultimate beauty secret is to be happy in yourself’.

Tired of all those chemical-based teeth whitening manufactures in the market? Are you having allergic reactions to the different products offered to you? Then maybe it’s about time you try home remedy as your solution.

Baking soda has been proven as the best remedy for the not-so-white teeth. People who take up dentistry vouch for the good effects of baking soda, compared to its all-natural counterparts such as lemon juice and strawberries (both of which deposit natural sugars in between the teeth). Dentists however, remind everyone that they should never forget brushing their teeth with fluoride toothpaste, as fluoride is an essential element for the teeth to be healthy. SMILE!
